Cooter
I don't know and am not a big fan of the moon theory so I'm gonna go with the first week in Nov for some vacation time. Last year I spread it out - a Tues and Thurs, then with weekends off the following week Mon and Wed....something like that. I didn't see much rut activity, had some very warm days for early Nov. So the question is, what dates are your hopes high for as far as catching that old monster chasing girls around during shooting hours?
harvey lee
For me in North Dakota, the past 10 years seem to start around the 6-8 of November and really crank up about the 12th. Of course this will change with any hot heat rolling in.

surewood
I agree with nightcrawler right around the 10th give or take a couple of days from year to year.
roosterslayer
last year i seen some small bucks checking out the does on opener, but the does wanted nothing to do with them. Now on second weekend i watched a few bucks chasing does. So i agree the rut seems to be around the 10th-15th. either way i am hunting both weekends in MN and opener in WI. So i will just have to see what happens.
Nova
The full moon in October is supposed to be the 27th and the theory is 7-10 days after that they will be in full chase mode. I am taking the 3rd thru the 10th off in hopes of seeing this action for a week. Sure hope it works out.

When you mention full moon in october Tim, it's suppose to be about chasing walleyes on mille lacs, not deer.
Nova
Hey Nav, sorry the boat is already put away and the bows and guns are out. I wish I could fish and hunt but there isn't enough time

GerrySchoolcraft
I have seen it start to heat up on halloween some years, so I don't take the chance of missing that day. Thats when I notice the big fellers start to show themselves. I start my vacation the 27th of Oct. and run to the 18th of Nov. I save all my vacation for bowhunting.
