Sartell Angler
31 flocked bigfoot fullbodies, 5 real geese silos...will add the shells and even a dozen windsocks when the season progresses...and if we combine with other hunting buddies of ours there is no telling how big our honker spread will be! IceHawk
I'll be setting around 40 or so full bodies includeing a mix of hardcores, bigfoots,GHG. I set up early season spreads in small family groups so alot of decoys aren't required. Later in the season the mother load starts going out. fish4cats
That is between 4 guys remember. We love to use #'s to attract those birds from long distances, and it is alot easier to hide in all those decoys. We are shooting for 15 doz fullbodies for next year(and a trailer). carpshooterdeluxe
we run whatever the field dictates. friday night scouting there was 195+ birds in a field. but saturday morning there was 150 in one and 50 in a nearby field. we have permission for both. if need be, we will be running upto 10 dozen fullbodies, a mixture of ghg ffds, pro grades, hunters, and final approach fbs. we also got permission for a hidden stock pond holding 40 birds; wont really need any dekes for that; they pile right in after feeding. we also have permission for a bunch of fields where 10-20 birds are currently feeding. so if we hunted one of those we would use 10-20 dekes. You are exactly right Carp. The field and amount of geese in it will dictate how many dekes we run. If our field only has 3 dz geese feeding in it, then we'll only throw out 4 dz decoys. Last year, we had 150+ geese feeding in our field for the opener. We also found out that there might be another group of hunters in the same field. Therefore, we decided to throw out all 10 dz FBs, 2 dz shells.
