homemade shooting bench (now with pictures)

Recommended Posts

I would agree that is a nice bench. I just thought it was funny that your shoot bench has legs and the foosball table didn't. I am notorious for "borrowing" pieces of other things in our house for hunting/outdoor equipment.

One time I couldn't find my collapsable sticks to hold up my decoy. So I grabbed part of our cloths rack and used those. My wife couldn't figure out why it was so flimsy??

I went to the local hardware store (ace) and asked if they had table legs, and they did. Allegedly they have them at Home Depot, menards, etc. that and a 2'x4' piece of 3/4" plwood and you are on you way. basic plans are pretty simple. over all length is 40", front end is 24" wide the back end is 14" wide. The angle cuts start at 19" from the front and 16" from the back.

Underneath, I mount the front legs on 1 layer of plywood (in addition to the top) the back legs mount on two pieces of plywood ( in addition to the top). I cut the hand holds and the gun rests in. I will cushing the gun rests at some point.

The table does lean forward a little bit, but it does all the legs to fold down flat (front legs first)
