picksbigwagon
I did the normal searches on the internet this afternoon, but didn't really find good plans or pictures for a homemade, portable shooting bench. Has anyone here made one before? If so, care to share pictures?
picksbigwagon
found the plans online, it is called a "BOOGER BENCH" I had the plywood, the legs were 19 bucks. Two hours of work and this it looks liked finished:
TrophyEyes
It was probably less for the legs. Look at the foosball table. Just kidding.
McGurk
I'm glad I'm not the only guy who looks at the rest of the picture unrelated to the topic. Nice looking Bench!
TrophyEyes
I would agree that is a nice bench. I just thought it was funny that your shoot bench has legs and the foosball table didn't. I am notorious for "borrowing" pieces of other things in our house for hunting/outdoor equipment. One time I couldn't find my collapsable sticks to hold up my decoy. So I grabbed part of our cloths rack and used those. My wife couldn't figure out why it was so flimsy??
picksbigwagon
nope, foosball table was rescued from the garbage, my kids like sitting on the floor to play it
lawdog
What are those legs for/from? Where does someone buy them? I love the bench, I've been looking for a commercial one for the acreage and $100 or more. I'm building this one now...
picksbigwagon
I went to the local hardware store (ace) and asked if they had table legs, and they did. Allegedly they have them at Home Depot, menards, etc. that and a 2'x4' piece of 3/4" plwood and you are on you way. basic plans are pretty simple. over all length is 40", front end is 24" wide the back end is 14" wide. The angle cuts start at 19" from the front and 16" from the back.Underneath, I mount the front legs on 1 layer of plywood (in addition to the top) the back legs mount on two pieces of plywood ( in addition to the top). I cut the hand holds and the gun rests in. I will cushing the gun rests at some point. The table does lean forward a little bit, but it does all the legs to fold down flat (front legs first)
Northland Sportsman
Thanks for the post and the pics. I think I will build one of those too. Looks like it will work very well and cheap!
snapcrackpop
Looks better than the $150 ones at the store.
