Gear and Gadgets.....

So i've been spending a lot of time looking through cabelas magazines lately wondering what to buy for this fall. With all the new gear on the market, what is one thing you've bought that turned into something you absolutely love and won't go into the field without.

One thing i love is a sling for my shotgun while duckhunting. it is so useful to throw your sling on your shoulder and have your gun by you at all times and the sling makes that super easy.

I second the sling idea, but the one I like for my hunting is the Primos Bow sling. It has 2 molded cups for the cams on the bow and a shock-corded type sheet for around your strings. Nice for over the shoulder or across the back while hiking.

I also got a Cabelas headlamp last year for christmas and love it. No more holding my flashlight in my teeth while I try to find something in my bag. The LED's are brighter than the spot and keep the batteries much longer.

another vote for the sling on the shotgun. range finders are awsome (don't have one yet!!) I will have to try the bow sling. I think that my vote would be a pack of some sort for hunting. last year i got a cheap camo backpack ($5 walmart special) and i cary all my stuff in it and i can fit lots of clothes for when it is colder. It does seem kind of big at times though.

A headlamp. I bought the $10 one at Walmart and love it, frees up your hands for carrying your bow and other gear. When bowhunting is done, it goes in my icefishing gear, great for that walk off the ice in the dark.

How does a bow sling work? Do you take it off when you're in the tree?
