Ray Esboldt
I just wanted to let Deitz and all the other wind haters know that this past weekend (Friday through Sunday) was hands down the best bass fishing I have had all year. Not necessarily for numbers, but for quality fish. Our club fished some lakes northwest of Alex and the weights were exceptional considering no one had any experience with the lakes. And, to a T, the guys that caught the heavy fish were out in the wind all day. The guys that sought calm waters, left with little guys or nothing.Man, I love the wind! Ray Esboldt
Ocf,We were on Ida on Sunday. Ida was not as good as the other two lakes. I did find the deeper you fished, the smaller the got. However, if you stayed out in the wind there were some OK sized shallow fish. And, CB. I've got to find some time, so we can get out. Heck, it might be September the way it looks now. ocf1
Ray, what dpth did you have the best luck at? Ive never had luck deeper than 10 ft, docks can produce very well for me in this time of year.
bassNspear
docks that have alot of shallow water around them, or docks that are close to deep water?
ocf1
On the north bay there is a inside flat that hold a lot of fish, and then west end of that bay there a deeper water docks that produce. I cant tell a difference between the 2 really. Also If there is a tournament at orvilles place on the north end of the lake I will throw a lipless crank and a jerkbait there, no structure, just alot of roaming fish. Its cheap but it works. Sad that orvilles place is going to be sold, they held many tournaments there, RIP Orville.
