Trailer hooks

I bought some trailer hooks for my spinners. It came with a rubber tube and 5-6 hooks. I have tried to fix the hooks on with cut pieces of the tube, but it always is too loose and the hook falls off.

Could someone please help me with how to attach those trailer hooks?

How are you placing the tube on the hook?

The hook should be placed on the spinnerbait, and then the tbue go throw it. You have to push the hook throw both sides, and the hook should never come off.

I have used a paper punch, and punched pieces from a plastic ice cream container lid. I slip on the trailer hook, and then CAREFULLY slip on the little plastic disc over the main hook. I have not lost a trailer hook yet.

I either do like Z or if I dont have the nerve, I will put the trailer on 1st, then the tubing by itself, so that the trailer is just hanging free and the tubing is just the stopper, just like the plastic disks. Sometimes with the tubing over the eye of the hook, is the hook will flip upside down and get stuck until you get it back to the boat and notice it. With the stopper and the hook seperate if your hook would filp it will just fall back down when it hits the water.

yea, i would put the hook on and the tube as a stopper, but the tube seems to be too big to stay on the main hook, and it basically slides right off

Pierce the tube with the hook.

Don't slide the tube over the hook.

Lay the tubing cross ways over the point and punch a hole through it.

Stick the eye of the trailer hook into the tube and cut the tube off right above it then put your trailer hook unto the bait. Won't move easily.

That is what I have also done. It still moves a little, but remains snug. When you put the spinner bait hook through the eye of the "trailer hook with the tube on it", run it through the top of the eye so the rubber doesn't tear so easily.
