Reef Runner
I have seen this stuff for patching up spots in your yard. I can only find it on-line. Does any one know of where someone could by this type of stuff.
Gus
I hope someone knows because I am seeing it too. Only not in the yard but in my landscaping on top of my mulch.
harvey lee
Reefif you talking about the seed that comes in a mat type material that you just lay down on the bad spot, you should be able to find it at Walmart or Menards as I believe I have seen it there in the past.I hope this is what you are looking for. IFallsRon
It's grass seed imbedded in a fiber material that protects it when you put in in your yard, kind of like the mixture that a hydroseeder would use. I've used it with some success. I'd suggest throwing some extra seed down before using it. You can also get similiar results by trowing grass clippings on top of new seed. Reef Runner
It's not a mat.It kind of looks like worm bedding with green in it.The deal is that I need to fill in some patches that my dog destroys. Last year I had good luck with raking up the spot and putting some fresh dirt and new seed down. This year I have had very little luck with this method. So I thought I could find some of this stuff to put on the areas.Like I said I found it on-line, It was called Patch Perfect, but I would like to just get it at a store. Powerstroke
All-in-one seed patchers are very good for fixing small spots, but if you're trying top patch areas and grow grass right now, it might be worthless. With the heat and lack of water its very difficult to grow grass right now. Your best bet is to wait till late Aug to do any seeding. I too have dog spots and some areas that need repairing, but with the heat and drought right now its nearly impossible to get grass growing in July. I've had the same problems this year. It's not exacttly rocket science to get dirt, fill in some dog spots, throw down some starter fertilizer and seed, water. Wha-la, about 2 weeks it's filled in.For whatever reason this year, I could NOT get grass seed started. I used 3 different dirts, 2 different blends of grass seed, still nothing.Customer said that's fine, and would try to fix it themselves.
