Johnson outboard and Amsoil Saber

hovermn

Question

I just picked up a 14' lund with a 1974 Johnson 25 hp motor. I'd like to run Saber oil in it, but want to make doubly sure that the Saber outboard oil at 100:1 will work with this engine.

Any thoughts? I've run the Saber with success in my Chainsaw and ice auger, but want some opinions with the outboard.

Thanks!

I've been using the Amsoil HP Injecter oil at 50:1 in my 1980 (ish) Johnson 60hp. Sure seams to me like it has improved the performance of the motor. You can pick the HP Injecter up at Fleet Farm by the gallon.

Really... Kinda wish I had a chance to read this about 45 minutes ago, I was just at Fleet Farm! lol Woulda shouda coulda. Okay, I'll go with it. I did some reading in the archives and found that people were recommending decarbing the engine before using the Saber Outboard. Would the same hold true for the HP? If so, anyone use the Seafoam Deep Creep? I wonder if I can just pure small amounts of reg. seafoam into the carb. I've done it with car engines...
