Lunch place on the water

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Doing "date day" on the water tomorrow (no comments please grin.gif). Looking for a muskie lake with a place to dock and have lunch, was going to do 'tonka but the sailboat regatta changed my plans. Does Waconia or Indy have any place that I could grab a burger at? Maybe the place in town on Forest, could I anchor/beach there and walk up, I think they have a deck so I could keep an eye on the gear.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks, Chris

Head down to the St.Croix, fish out of the Afton Area then do a nice scenic ride up to the Hudson area and you'll have a few choices for lunch, then head up a little past Stillwater and end the day with some killer smallie action (I know there are Muskies up there too, hooked one a few year back smallie fishing). Heck that sounds like such a good idea, I may see if the little lady is interested...

All bases covered... Musky for you in the morning, Lunch for you both, and smallie action to keep her interested.

RU - that sounds like an awesome day trip...

Cjac - if you REALLY want to make some points with the BOSS:

- Take her to Lake Elmo, fish Elmo for a while and see if you can catch one of the tigers out there

- Make reservations at the Lake Elmo Inn and take her there for lunch.

- Better yet, bring a change of clothes and take her to dinner there (you can get away with jeans there no problem.) Get the roast duck. It's out of this world...

Cheers,

Thanks for the ideas!! I bought her a Diamond..........Diamond Back rod that is!! KT did it up for her compete with hot pink wrap. She's anxious to throw it. I've already tested it for her of course....

Rob, I'll do Elmo Inn if I can send you the bill, been there before, incredible food but ya pay for it! Like the St Croix idea a lot too.....I'll see what the BOSS says. Looking forward to a day on the water most of all.

Thanks again, Chris

Kimm, somethings you say impress me from time to time but that one is the best idea I have seen on this forum yet!

Fishing and a happy wife/girlfriend, no wonder you make the big bucks.

The Lake Elmo Inn is a great place to take the gal when you need to do some, ahh, 'damage control.' wink.gif I recently made some unfortunate comments about the division of labor when it comes to yard work. I should probably make reservations now...

But the food's awesome, so it's a win-win smile.gif

RK - Yours is pretty solid too, the food at the Lake Elmo in is incredible that is forsure.

Cjac - another thing you could do is a little romantic picnic on one of the islands up the Croix.

LOL my first time on the Croix a couple weeks ago (upper end) we interrupted a couple on a "romantic" picnic on an Island.... thought she had a skin colored thong on for a second.... then realized there was no thong grin.gif.... I wonder if he'll ever be able to talk her into that again blush.gifgrin.gif

Well, Friday was not the ideal weather day, so it turned into a "Honey Do" day for me, no Elmo Inn or making snow angels in the sand on the Croix! Ended up out early Sunday AM, with her meeting up later after the fishing for a little sun time. So, the lunch day is on hold and to be rescheduled. Thanks for all the input though!

Had one fish swing & miss at the bait, I'm sure it was not operator error. Slow start to the year for me, couple fish have been pretty interested but only nip at the bait. Saw a guy fishing solo in a Tundra with an Opti on the back, thought maybe someone softened their stance on being anti-metro fishing!

River Rat - hahaha...that's funny. Similar experience once on Lake Alexander of all places. A couple up in the cattails. Didn't seem too romantic to me, but whatever...

Cjac - wasn't my Tundra. I was up north where I belong. smile.gif

Cheers,

Rob
