if I know I am going to keep fish, and I will be on the water all day, I will fill the live well from my garden hose then just run the airiater. But I dont normally keep fish so not a big problem for me.

I use that additive when the weather is really hot and it works very well. Except I don't have recirc so I have to continuously cycle new water in so have to add more powder regularly (or ice for that matter).

ice in the livewell... keeping the water cool helps keep the fish lively and obviously alive. I just bring a cooler with 10lbs or so of ice & add as needed. Recirc the water in the livewell from time to time helps too.

If the conditions call for it I do - but since I repeatedly circulate new water in to the livewells I have to repeat it in order to be effective. I think that is the name of the stuff but have to confirm it tonight when I get home. Stuff is expensive so only use it during tournaments in hot weather.

When the water gets warm it has a hard time holding oxygen and this product helps a ton. I also agree with the ice, ice helps cool the water, in turn that allows the water to hold more oxygen and also slows the amount of oxygen the fish is burning.

The powder stuff I use in the livewell on really hot days in addition to ice is called "Rejuvenade" and it must help because I have never lost a healthy fish. I have lost some that were hooked very deep but that was likely not related to water temp/condition.
