Wish-I-Were-Fishn
I have a Rule aerator pump that keeps blowing fuses. As soon as I put in a new one, and turn on the switch, it pops the fuse.Any ideas on where to start looking for the problem?
0 Kyle Sandberg
Cracked insulation, shorting out, make sure the wires are + to + and - to -. I was a dummy once, put them on wrong, and three dollars in fuses later I figured it out.
0 harvey lee
I agree the suspect sounds to be a wiring issue. One might also check the impeller on the pump as something could have it stuck in place and it wont turn.

0 Valv
It might not blow that fast unless motor is burned and shorted out, in which case all the suggestions above apply.
0 Wish-I-Were-Fishn
Fuss is 2 amp, but I can't find one anywhere. My dealer says to use a 5 amp because if anything is/gets caught in the pump, it will pop the fuse. If it pops with a 5 amp then I have problem. 0 sparcebag
Watch out with 5A fuse Rules suggest 2A Do you have the 3 wire one? if so the brown/white tracer wire is for a switch the other two are ground Black and Brown POS,they are for the float. The brown/white tracer is not needed unless you'd like a off/on switch. I get my 2-3 amp fuses at Kmart or Menards Also its white top blue base/strainer there are two tabs between the two to release motor from strainer, pop it off and turn the impeller by hand.then try it disconnected from strainer, maybe even cut the wires and go direct to batt. see if it works.
