When it turned into a fuel run, it pretty much took all the favorites out of the race. It also really took me out too. Oh well, thats racing.

Mears was running in the top 5-10 all day he really deserved it.

I think the 600 mile race is just absurd myself. No reason for a race to last 5 hours...

As for Mears, he was, as someone else said already, running top 5-10 most of the second half of that race although he clearly wasn't going to win, he did run very well. Actually Yeley and Petty were pretty much in the same boat, ran much better than usual AND got a break at the end to improve on what would have been great finishes anyway.
