Good luck to all, I don't think I'll get out for esox til next week. MuskyBrian - I'd be interested in a report from the Pike Chain - fished it for eyes and smallies but not muskies - have seen some good ones in there wink.gif

How did everybody do ? We fished about 100 miles south of Superior and got skunked ! Later last night we went for 2 hrs. about 20 minutes from home and I caught a chunky 35" . Not the 50 I hoped for but kept me from being shut out . Hope everybody else had a great opener !

The wife and I put three smaller fish in the boat... Had good action on stained water lakes with about 15 follows and the three that ate...

Fished Monday evening and Tuesday morning... Monday, dawgs and twitching cranks pulled fish in.. Tuesday, hair did the trick...

62 degree surface temp and the fish were holding on outside weededges on the edges of bays...

we did good - saturday morning nothing happened till about 9am - then from 9 till 9 i bet i moved a fish at least every hour. they sere pretty tight lipped but managed to put two in the boat and lost another boatside. the hail was a blast and i guess there was a torando somewhere near by. water temp 61-63

sunday mornig was very slow and only moved one fish and left the lake about 1030. headed off in more of a eastward direction. fished a smaller lake from about 2 till dark moving one fish and my partner losing one nice fish. had dinner and went out for some night trolling - ended up with two more smaller fish that night. water temps 63-64

monday moved yet to another lake (one we had never fished) in hopes of something bigger. no luck - moved to or three but just could not get anything to go - water temps were 57-59.

cant wait for saturday!

By the way if you look close at the above fish you'll notice it had a ruff spawn . It was pretty beat up and still very aggressive . It also had a lamprey stuck to its cheek that came off in the net .
