Motor won't idle/troll?

I've got a 91' Evinrude VRO 40 HP motor on my boat, It will idle for a minuet or so and then quit, same with trolling, I can go for a few minuets then and it kills, anything over maybe 1/8 throttle and it works great, I've cruised all day with no problems, but at low idle it kills.

I've all ready replaced the spark plugs, could it be a carb problem? I'f that is the problem how do I clean it?

Is your tank loosing prime, when it starts to cut out squeeze the fuel ball a couple of times. It may have a bad hose, or pickup in the fuel tank.

Sounds like it might be a chunk of crud in the low speed jet. Time for a cleaning...

Any info on how to clean the low speed jet? Like what it is, where it is, and how to do it? Or should I just take it in some place?

You have to take apart the carbs and clean them up. I suggest buying a manual or take it to a shop. It's not a tough job, but it takes person with a little expertise.
