Ebiz
Question - heading up north this weekend and am planning on fishing with small suckers (around 4") Was wondering how many dozen that would be if I bought a gallon?
Woodland
Light Pike are about 56 dozen in a gallon. Heavy Pike are about 34 dozen in a gallon. Does that help at all?
fishfearme
I believe woodlands numbers are a bit high. There should be around 26 dozen in the 4 inch range.

Ebiz
I was guessing somewhere around 25 dozen as well. I've called around to a bunch of bait stores from here to Ely and asked approximately how many 4" small suckers to a gallon. Have received answers ranging between 12 and 85 dozen so I thought I'd post it on here for clarification. We have four guys going up for four days - at 12 dozen that would only be 3 dozen minnows each total for the whole trip, on the other end 85 dozen would be over 20 dozen each, obviously too much. nofishfisherman
Just fish plastics and don't worry about it. Each plastic minnow will catch multiple fish.
