Suitcase Style House

I recently picked up an older suitcase style ice house at a garage sale. i couldn't pass it up for $10.00! the canvas is pretty well shot, and will be replacing it this summer. can anyone recommend where i can purchase new canvas for it? my wife is a wizz on the sewing machine, so i'm not looking for a custom-fit or pre-fab of any kind...just the canvas fabic in bulk.

When I bulit mine about two years ago I got mine at Manareds.I got a nice canves tarp and made it out of that and It's real heavey duty.

I believe most of those are made in Mankato, you might even be able to buy the canvas pre sewn from there. Google Mankato tent and awning I believe that should put you in contact with them

What brand is it? Mankato Tent and Awning like BIGEYE says can probably make you one. Clam sells replacements on their site, so if its a Clam, check there. Never been on any others sites, but if its one of the other brands, check their sites as well

thanks for the responses. not sure what brand it is, as it only has an old MN resident tag on the front from 1986.

i'm not looking for a replacement canvas. i'm looking for purchase the canvas fabric in bulk. there are a couple of custom things we want to do with it.

You could also check with JoAnn fabric or Michael's craft shops. You'll get lots of attention too, as you'll probably be the only guy in there for the week.

look in the book for any boat canopy shop or awning company they can set you up. ... paul

Huh, I was just there last spring, they made a new canopy for the lift. There site is still active.

I know canvas craft (makes the otterskin) in Ramsey makes a suit case style.
