Mallard drake: Surf's up!

I was out shooting marsh marigolds along the shore of Shagawa Lake late this afternoon, and here comes a sneaky mallard drake right up into the creek I'm lounging next to. Well, couldn't let that opportunity pass.

Canon 30D, Canon 100-400L IS, iso400, 1/1000 at f8 on all three, handheld

Even from 15 feet away in camo it's hard to stay invisible from a duck

Cool shot. It almost looks like a shotgun BB scar across its lips. Thats one lucky duck!
