BLACKJACK
Any recommendations on the type/percentage on clover food plots? A generic 10-10-10 or should it be a higher nitrogen like a 27-10-10? Also, spring and fall fertilizing or just spring?
WaveWacker
Clover actually doesn't need N. It needs P and even more K. Talk with the local fertilizer supplier and they will tell you more about the fertilizer blends that they have available.
Code-Man
some coops have bagged fertilizer 10-10-40 in 40 lb bags should be 9-10 bucks
BLACKJACK
After calling around I can get some 17-16-17 for $15.00 for 40 pounds or I can get some 27-13-14 for $12 for some 50 pound bags. Think I'll be going with the 27-13-14...
Code-Man
I would recomend the lower nitrogen one honestly. all you need is some potash. depending on your soil test.
PerchJerker
Agree, I usually fertilize my clover with 9-23-30 or 5-14-42. Or skip the nitrogen altogether and buy just the potash like code-man suggests. The more nitrogen you use in clover, the more your weeds will like it
