cRaPpiEMaN8265
I was wondering if anyone else was going out to Yellow lake on opener. I'm talking about the one near webster. I will be headed out there for some eyes and was just looking for any pointers. ThanksRyan

anchor man
I'll be on Yellow for about our 7th year or so. We usually try the area where the river dumps in and have had mixed results in the 6-10' range. The last few years have been very poor for us (for walleyes). We also try the NW corner and have had mixed results there as well, more non-fish days than fish days. Looking at the structure of the lake, you would think they'd be easy to find and pattern. We don't get out much beyond about 12 fow. Anyone have any luck out in 20+ fow range on opener? cRaPpiEMaN8265
Thanks guys. Roughly howdeep is the weedline in the lake??? We just want some eaters and i have heard they are in shallower about 4-8ft??? Thanks Ryan
LoonASea
The weeds will probably be sparse and stop at about 8 ft ,,the ice just left the lake about 12 days ago ,,,look for water above 50 and the post spawn fish should be close ,,,if the wind stays as predicted the no west side will hold the warmest water ,,last year I landed 55 pike and 2 muskies on opener while fishing for eyes ,,prepare accordingly ,,,I'll be floating some where in a green Lund with a Honda 50 Good Luck Randoid

broman
How was fishing this weekend up on Yellow? I'm going to going up next weekend. Also, I plan on taking 35 up to Webster. Last year they had it detoured and they were doing constuction. Are they done with that or is it still detoured?
LoonASea
Fishing wasnt like it was last year but the wind kicked our butts ,,,the pike ran smaller this year and the walleye didnt seem to be in their usual haunts ,,,water temps were around 55ish ,,,we did manage 11 keepers for 4 guys ,,I did notice that more boats had Mn registration then Wisc ,,,slip bobbering seemed to be the technique that took the most fish as boat control was a bear The road const from Webster to Danbury is complete if that the const you referred to
cRaPpiEMaN8265
Went out to yellow aon saturday and didnt even get a walleye. It was very tought with the wind bringing up a 3 1/2ft chop though. There were plenty of boats out there probably around 50 i guess some guys were out at midnight and hammered them but during the day it was tough. The best luck during the day was trolling cranks in about 8 ft of water. Didnt sound like many people got much. Hope the wind isnt so bad next weekend.Ryan
Herman
Saturday morning trolling raps on the east shore was pretty decent, we caught 4 walleyes and 8 northerns from 7:00 to 10:00. We came back after a short break and all fish we had seen in 5 to 9 FOW were gone. I figured they followed the wind to the North shore, but that didnt seem like fun fishing over there. We ended up with 5 eyes 12 snakes a few perch and then we just fished crappies...not too bad for three of us.
rangerforme
The wind had to be rough on Yellow, not alot of places to hide. Even the little lakes were awful.

cRaPpiEMaN8265
Yea i very rarely fish walleyes and could have been the problem. We were fishing anchored on the se corner just a little ways from the landing in about 8 feet. We caught a few perch but that was it. We talked to many people that were trolling that east shore and said it was very spotty.Ryan
