Nice fish Gary! I've had the same luck you were having on flats so far this year, all 8 lbs and under. Hopefully thats about to change. I got 3 days of catfishing starting in T-minus 5 hours.

Not sure if the big channel is going to happen this weekend or not for me on the Red.

Dad & I fished most of Friday and only caught 1 small (5-6lbs) cat.

Every spot we tried was more of the same. Tap, tap, tap. Thump and missed it. Tap, tap, tap. Really disappointing. We fished our butts off hitting a variety of different structures and locations. But it was the same story everywhere for us. Rain finally set in hard and that was enough to chase us off the river.

It was nice up here most of the week. Nasty cold front came in, rising barometer, and rained all day. Not what I'd consider cattin' weather.

I'll probably be back out tomorrow but my expectations are super low now. Freakin' weather.

Well... after a full 'nother 10 hours of fishing today... cripes!! I got a channel to score but we'll be definitely looking to upgrade.

26" length x 16" girth for a whopping 8 1/2 lbs. Can you say Sumo? No wonder we couldn't get any cats to bite, they all had softballs shoved in their stomachs.

I can't get the photo up right now, but will be posted first thing Tuesday morning.

And the dozen or so other snags we fished! There are some really cool ones up there. Most of them are in 12-20' of water right now too! My boat is sitting in 11' probably and the channel side of that snagpile is 20'. The break is right under the snag. Sweet! Should have been more fish under it though.
