Look on-line to get a blue book value.

My initial reaction is that the price is high for a '99 with a 115, but that's just a guess and I really don't know for sure.

I don't believe that model is made anymore?

Also, it sounds underpowered to me ---- isn't that boat rated for a 150 or a 175?

PerchJerker, I would think a 17'6" boat would be maxed at 115HP especially for a boat design that old.

Original poster,

You could purchase a very comparable boat for $16k that is brand new off the showroom floor. Why you looking at a 8-9 year old used boat for that price, unless it was over 20feet with a 200+HP engine?

Its very near to my house and easily accessible. Would it being a glass boat make any difference. I know new ones are pretty expensive nowadays. Thanks for all the responses.

P.S., where would you go (HSOforum) to find the blue book value. (Kelly Blue Book dosen't have boats)

I don't know for sure what that boat is rated for, but the tiller versions had 80's on them and console versions are usually about twice the tiller rating. Plus Skeeter is usually aggresive in the size of motors they rate their boats for. But I don't know for sure, I could be way off.

Usually banks and credit unions have the boat blue book as well so they can check for loans. Usually the book value is a little low up north. Our boats tend to hold values bettor since they have a shorter season etc.
