How do you handle fishing alone? I have a heck of a time getting a good picture of myself, holding a fish, holding a control item, and still getting the fish released without taking 15 minutes of handling time.

Maybe people just don't like to fish with me

Yeah i'm not sure about being able to be in a pic either due to fishing alone often myself. Its gonna be hard enough holding up a 75lb flathead with a control item let alone having to try to take a pic of myself holding a control item and the fish.

Well, when I catch my 80 I will either just put the piece of paper in my mouth, or stick it to the fish (the slime will grab it good), or you could always use a clothspin.

Sorry, but all three (fish, angler, control item) must be present in at least one picture.

i usually have my kids along when i go fishing so i will just make them take my picture otherwise i will probaly drop the camera or fish and my self in the water

hopefully my chances of getting into some big guys went up a little. although ill still be fishing from shore a lot, this purchase will let me get on to the water:

my first ever boat and i'll be picking it up tomorrow. im pretty excited to say the least. nothing special but got it for a good deal and it has everything i need, so we will see.

Ok I've also added aanderud who will be participating in the Belle Plaine cat league. I have selected 6 teams of 5 using assigned numbers and a random number generator I found online. I will be posting a thread for each team. Find your team, and discuss amongst yourselves a team name. I will then edit to include the team name. Please decide in a timely matter as I can only edit the title for 360 hours.

Fisky, would have loved to squeezed you in somewhere. Your channels would have been welcomed on any team. I had to go ahead and close off the entry period so I could assign teams and get them coordinated before the start date.

I have a good idea. I'll take a ride up there and you can "unofficialy" help my team

well, so much for that idea. why do you guys have to be such boy scouts . its gonna get tougher and tougher to concentrate on the contest if the crappie bite stays this good for me. but... i think i can break away from the lake. when does this officially start? planning a trip to the river for next sunday for sure.

Keep your eyes open for the control item. I will be releasing it in the next couple of days. I will have a link to it, so you can just print it any time you need to. Otherwise it will be acceptable to handwrite the phrase on any piece of paper or cardboard or whatever (as long as it's legible).

I will post a link to the control item in each teams forum for ease.

I'll be heading out here shortly to practice

One thing I would like to ask, is that team members communicate from time to time. Even if it's a simple "I'm here" in your forum. If it appears that one of your team members is a "no show" we could plug in someone else.

Feel free to start using the email I provided (to submit your fish) to communicate with me any questions or concerns you may have.

Ok guys, here is the control item. Please try a test page to make sure there are no problems. When you click the link you can either open up the document and print, or save it to your computer and print.

It is a word document, but I would think you should be able to open it with works as well. If there are any problems, I will just scan the document to a jpeg to make it easier.

It worked for me. Just clicked the link and it open right up to the King of the cats 2007 and the picture of the catfish. Then I just printed the page. Worked great!
