iffwalleyes
So here is a question for you. When it comes to snells what are your favorite colors for hooks and the spinner blade itself? Also what length do you guys typically like to run? I usually run about a 6' snell and I like gold blades and red hooks. I know it depends on your given lakes condition too but what are your typical like to run?
gunflint
Who told you my secret weapon? I use almost the same set up but I like hammered silver blades also. The silver and gold work well in my semi-stained lake.
Borch
I run spinner rigs from 4-7 feet in length. As far as blade colors go I use flor orange, chartrues, lime green, gold, hammered gold, hammered nickle and a few como color blades. Bead colors vary greatly also. As far as which one is a favorite it depends on which lake I'm fishing on at the time. It varies greatly from lake to lake or day to day. Hooks are eitther bronze or nickle. I stopped running colored hooks on my spinner rigs a few years ago as I didn't see any noticeable difference in their effectiveness on my spinner rigs. Now livebait rigs that's a different story. Team Otter
I'll mimic what Borch has already mentioned but add that I like to have a bead above the blade as well because presents itself as the eye of a bait fish. Substantially better results spinner fishing since making that minor adjustment.
