Wild Tickets

I've never been to an NHL game and would like to change that. I was looking at Wild ticket prices online and see that lower level seating is pretty expensive, while upper level seating seemed more in range with my checkbook.

What's it like sitting in the upper level vs sitting in the lower level? Can you still see? What about sitting on the ends vs the middle?

How far in advance do I have to buy tickets, can you get tickets at the game?

I'm honestly lost on this subject, any info would help me alot.........thanks.

The bar rail area is great. In between upper and lower. Like someone else posted there is not a bad seat in the house. The live experience is awesome. Usually you can go on line and buy that day.

I split season tickets with another guy so I go to half the games with those tickets. They are great seats, first row, upper deck, between the red and blue line. I have sat almost everywhere in that place over the past few years. The action is a lot faster down low but there are times when you can’t see what’s going on. In my opinion, if you can get something in the lower level, between the blue lines, no closer than 13 rows up, than those are good seats. Otherwise I would go with the upper deck anywhere on the sides.

I think the best way to get tickets is from the scalpers. I go down all the time on nights that my friend has the tickets and buy them from the scalpers. I get great seats in the lower level for $20 each. A few weeks ago I was in the 16th row, as close as possible to the red line, for $20 each. Just remember your 7th grade Econ class – Supply and Demand! Go down and scope out the guys that are holding the most tickets. Go to the guy that is holding the most tickets at 7:00 and ask to see what seats he has. Don’t talk to any of them until 7:00! If one of them has seats your interested in, tell them that you already have some tickets at WILL CALL but they’re in the corner and you would buy his if he’s willing to let them go for $20 each. Keep an eye on what’s going on around you. If you don’t see anyone looking to buy tickets out there but you see a bunch of scalpers selling, you can offer him even less. Remember that it’s a game of chicken and who will cave in first. The scalpers only option is to take what you will give him or go home with nothing! Scalpers have all the power to charge whatever they want before the game starts, but if you wait until game time and the demand has dropped, all that power shifts to you.

You have to be willing to go watch the game at a bar in order to have the right attitude. The closest I have gotten to that was the last Sharks game. The scalper that had the seats I wanted told me I was crazy to think I could come down and get seats for $20. I told him that my offer was $20 each and that I was going to go stand by the door. For every minute I wait my offer goes down $5 per ticket, and then I’m going to go pick up my WILL CALL tickets. The guy ran over to me to take the offer within 30 seconds!

I was going to say something to the same effect about not sitting too far down. About 12-13 rows up is right...that way you can see the whole ice.

I've sat in places that offer views from different angles...it is interesting to sit in different places. Upper deck on the ends is interesting as you can see the rotation during line changes and on power plays...kind of fun to see that different view.

Up in the corners is not bad, because you can see the whole ice, but if you can get up a little bit between the blue lines you can't go wrong.

And the previous post is right...find a local neighborhood entrepreneur and you will get a hold of some good tickets.
