0 cliffy
I use a couple of different RAM kits. One is in my boat..the other for my truck...and one more for the ATV. The one for the boat and atv are a ball joint connection..and the one for the truck is a suction cup connetion.
0 finspat
Like to know if i could use that on my ATV as well, I am borrowing the ATV dont want to drill holes and mount stuff on it!Was thinking just plop it on the gas tank, plenty of real estate there for a 3 to 4 inches suction cup.I notice you mention you have a lever to activate the suction cup , whats that all about?thank you for your info, does gander sell these?Fins
0 Ralph Wiggum
I'm not sure if it would hang onto a four wheeler with all the pounding or not. You can by a mount that would go on the handle bars with a hose clamp that might work better for that application. Basically, you'de just need the hose clamp base and a suction base, then you could switch the arm and holster between the two.If you look at the base of mine, you can see the lever I'm talking about. Basically, you put the suction cup where you want it, then, twist the lever which pulls suction on the suction cup and locks it down.
0 cliffy
This is the style that I have used on a ATV or anything that has handlebars. Just slip it over the bar, tighten the screw and connect a normal ram mount.
0 anyfishwilldo
This is the style of RAM mount I have found that works good on my ATV.
0 harvey lee
The ram mount on my wheeler has been there for three years and the H20 has riden there for many miles across the state. Never once have I had a problem. I believe I could roll the wheeler a couple times and that mount would still be there. Awesome mount.
0 schweady
Hey cliffy:That is the simplest bar mount! I've never seen that one while hunting through the usual cluster of RAM accessories that dealers have on display. What's the range of bar diameter that RAM mount will fit? (I'm looking for the right one for a canoe thwart.) Do you know a part number?Oh, and while I was out looking for it just now, I found this statement on the RAM-Mount HSOforum: "NOTICE TO DRIVERS IN CALIFORNIA AND MINNESOTA: State law prohibits drivers in California and Minnesota from using suction mounts on their windshields while operating motor vehicles."Aren't WE special?... I think its about one inch closed...there is some adjustability with the screw length. The part number on the one I have is RPR-B-215.I suppose it all falls under the basic law that says we cant have stuff hanging from our rear view mirror or cracks in the windshield....basically anything that obstructs your view of the road is illegal. I still use my GPS in my truck...it is stuck to window in the lower left hand corner...seems like a safe spot.
0 schweady
Thanks for the measurements and part number, cliffy. Yeah, it's crazy... but I still think I'll rip off my rear view mirror... you know, just to be safe...

I feel safer with it there than trying to look down at it.
