program ideas?

I am getting bored with winter already and would like to get some ideas from the forum residents about what would be a good program to present at a mid-winter meeting of a fishing league. This is our 17th year of fishing league and every year members complain about nothing to do in the winter. A good program or speaker would help eliminate the mid-winter doldrums and arouse some enthusiam from our members. thanks in advance

Hey pout;I've been looking for property anywhere from Browerville to Wadena to Motly,Plan on moving that way its nice to see a fish club there,Not many lakes in the area though I live on Diamond Lake by Willmar its getting to built up for me!Too many speed boats! but any way did you think about the DNR fisheries,Try Ted takasaki At Lindy.com maybe the linders all those guys like talkin fish.There only a Email away!

How about something on the use of a GPS? That seems like a common question.

Hi Eelpout, How many members are in your club? A great mid-winter seminar topic would be "spring fishing tactics". It is something that most anglers anticipate, it is when anglers spend the most time on the water, and usually is when the fish tend to the most aggressive. It is a topic that can be presented well and most folks will find it entertaining. Where would you guys be meeting for the seminar? I might be able to help you get a presenter lined up. i attended a seminar put on by Matt Straw the editor of In Fisherman. He spoke about perch and walleye tactics throught the ice but im sure with the knowledge he has it would be no problem for him or someone else he is associated with to come up with something that your group would be interested in.

Above was mentioned about Ted Takasaki. A great guy. The first time I met Ted, I was having breakfast before heading out to Little Bay de Noc. I said hi to him as I knew who he was and we ended up talking about dang near every strategy and lure used on the Noc and also exchanged some coords of different locations working for us. Lot of guys think the pros won't take the time to chat to the ave joe, but that's far from the truth. But I tell ya. Ted and I have stayed in touch since then and is always willing to answer questions or provide new information. Great guy.
