Have any of you had this happen before? My Nilsmaster has been cutting phenominally on the first hole I drill then every hole after that it just will not catch and dig down. I never push down on it but end up reducing the speed and then sometimes it catches and digs the way it should other times it looses its grip once it catches. The weird thing is that if I let the auger sit for 5 minutes or more - the first hole I cut goes down incredibly fast again - then on the remaining holes it just spins and does not catch. I would say I have drilled 1200 to 1500 holes and have not had it sharpened yet - I assume that is the problem - but why does it cut so good only on the first hole of each drilling session - are the blades getting iced up?
I did buy an Minnkota Ulterra, thanks for the recommendations. I had a bunch of Cabela"s bucks saved up, which helped. Now i need to
get an onboard battery charger. Where do you guys mount these things in your boat? The manufacturer I am looking at {Noco genius)
says tht their 3-bank charger will run at 160 degrees, seems like a lot of heat in an enclosed compartment? Thanks for any input on this.
Wasn't terrible at a state park beach. Antelope island maybe. I wouldn't recommend it as a beach destination tho. Figured I was there, I'm getting in it.
The water looked and smelled disgusting with hundreds of thousands of birds sh*tting in there. About as gross as the Salton Sea. When I duck hunted there I didn't even want to touch the water.
It's kinda gross with the algae in the summer but I got in it anyway. Wanted to see the increased bouyancy at work. You can kinda tuck yourself into a ball and you'll just float with your head above water. When dry off you look diamond encrusted with the salt.
We went to the flats too. I dipped a tire on the rental car onto it just to say I’ve been there, but it was still pretty soft from winter melt. After seeing some moron in a BMW suv get dragged out of the muck I had no intention of repeating his stupidity.
