lost my front wheel drive??

I have a 02 700 sportsman that the front wheel drive went out on. Any Ideas for a fix. would like to fix it myself if possible. unless it is too much to tackle.

Does the AWD light come on when you put it in all wheel drive? If it doesn't I believe there is a fuse somewhere that could be blown. I think it is under the cover in front of the main headlight.

pull the harness that plugs into the tranny and clean it.

check your fluid in your hubs?

could be a number of things, can you be more specific

Could be as simple as a burnt out AWD bulb or as bad as a bad speedometer. More observations would help.

all wheel drive symbol on the speedo does not come on. there is 12 power to and from the switch on the handle bars. the 2002 700 has breakers not fuses. The hubs on that year are sealed and non servicable.

could it be the sylinoid/magnets that lock the frontend or maybe a gear???

Thats wierd that the 700s from '02 don't have servicable hubs. I had to change the hub fluid on my old '02 500. [Please read forum policy before posting again. Thank you]

An '02 Sportsman 700 has the front locking mechanism built into the front differential and not at each hub; like older Sportsman's. The 500's may have used the old style hubs yet.
