FM gathering in Crookston roll call....

Wiskers

Recommended Posts

I am looking for feedback for an FM gathering in Crookston this summer.. I am thinkging July 10th weekend. Fishing the Redlake river or Red River. Pending on water available in the rivers boats and shore fishing will be a great adventure..

If the river is anything like last year we should have a great place to have a gathering below the dam.

Crookston has a great park for camping along the river and several hotels and motels.. for preferred rates just tell them Wiskers sent you.. The Northland Inn and AmericInn are your best deals.

looking for feedback and ideas for this event to get them city slickers out of the metro up to the boondocks.. lol lol.. Small boats and River Pro's welcome if we use the Red Lake River... I will keep posted on water levels... ...

Let me know your thoughts...
Dance is Friday night from 9-1:00.

Room rates are about $62.00 and $89.00 poolside. Good dinner specials and free drink coupons. Northland Inn..218-281-5210.

This list is gettin nice now, come on fellas.. Lets make this a huge day of stressless, fun fishing and visting.....

I am going to put up a list of people that are going to be here so if your name is on here and you will not be attending please let me know.. and if you are going to be here and I missed your name let me know.

You know I'm in. But aren't they supposed to take out the dam this summer? I know that is something that has been on the agenda for a while now that hasn't quite got done.

Bar will be stocked, back yard is quite big for tenting if needed.. I even have tennis courts in the back yard..

Flashman.. if I only knew how to put vids on here.. ... .. .Happy B-Day to you... LOL...Maybe I should have Rick post that one from the bar.. LMAO..

This will be a good time!!!!!!!!! Lets see how many RPs we can get in the Dam.. Make news for sure..

Tim... Well we have been hearing so many times now that the dam is being taken out I am starting to think its all a hoax.... Even if they do we will still be able to have a good time down there if the water is anything like last year and have that huge sand bar to play on.. It was awesome fishing there last year in the evenings just ask Flashman.. I had to drag him off there kicking and screaming....

wet nets..................

Awesome..

Goal is to get more fishermen and boats in the river than ever seen here in history.. as long as the water is cooperating.. otherwise only small boats will be able to get in.. by landing over the dike by had.. got fingers crossed...

Fishing from shore is just as much fun as fishing from a boat up there. Last summer there was a big sand bar we just setup camp on, brought the coolers and lawn chairs down there and caught fish on just about anything you threw in the water...steak, shrimp, cut sucker. It was a blast. I'm thinking catfish fry, Wiskers, you might have to ask Dennis for his secret recipe. My mouth is already watering. I can't wait.

Dennis uses my secret breading grin.gif

OK, it isn't mine, but we have two types and they are both darn good in the deep fryer with catfish strips.

You guys are going to have one sweet wing ding planned here if you keep at it smile.gif

I will be making the trip this time, missed the one this winter but that won't happen again. If needed I can even bring my fish cooker. I might be looking for a place to stay as my motel sank last summer.

Sounds like a good time and I might bring a crew with me.

See everyone there.

Count me in as well. I'll through the camper I bought from you on my truck and bring my new boat up. Not a RP but it's a heck of a nice duck boat. Had lots of fun with you and your brother last summer.

Ok here goes..
I have a buddy that is a DJ and the Northland Inn will let me use the main banquet room for a bash on Friday night the 9th, and if we get enough fellas that are staying at the Inn she will also give us the hospitaltity room for Sat. night with a bar.

So the big Q. is if enough FMers are going to make it up here I will set it up so we can get great rates for rooms at the Northland Inn, with Restraunt, bar and pool..Dance Fri night and some good beverages then we can fish Sat.

With or with out boats this will be a great weekend of fishing....

I need to get an idea on how many fellas are going to be here for sure on Fri.. Heck we can fish Fri and Sat.. Just let me know what you all think.

Rick>>>>>>>>>>

Let me know if we can get some items like we did on the Shue this winter..I will work on some local stuff also.

Got fingers crossed for good weather that day..

PASS THE WORD............................

hmmmm? Your very own catfishing bait. I can't even imagine what you'd put in it, is it anything like those wrotten freakin gizzards we tried to use that one year during Cats Incredible? The only thing good about those is that every time you took the lid off someone "chummed" for them.

later man

What do you think of the latest post on FM gathering??? that might be a real fun time if enough fellas are going to be here.. I passed on the info to our local Cat League members too.

See if you can make it down here next weekend and we'll go chase some kitties. Cootz is picking his boat up today, so I'll be helping him set that up for river fishing. I already picked out some lights for him; I think we'll get them mounted while we are in Blackduck this weekend when we aren't fishing.

Maybe we could hit the Shoe and see if you can catch a kitty there in the softwater season. Hahahahah
