Last Sunday i missed a good one. only trophy hunt with the muzzleloader.

That OK...you have ice fishing to look forward to with me and Chucky. Besides I'll let you look at the picture of the Buck that my brother got this year...yep we got the one we have been chasing for a few years. Are you going to be up for fishing on the 23rd...hopefully this warm weather and rain will stop!!!

Take care and good recommendation. I think you are told to clean them within 24 hours of shooting...that stuff (even the blowback) is corrosive.

I actually figured that was what it was about. I shot mine Sunday night & was amazed how many others I heard doing the same thing right at dark or a bit after. Talked to a few others who never shot all season & were debating on whether to shoot & clean or pull the breech plug & slip it out. I'd already shot mine the first middle weekend, so I wasn't debating on what to do.

I still haven't cleaned mine, that's on the agenda for tonight. I was just too tired when I got home from fishing last night. Too tired Sunday & Monday too, there's a theme here...

The Triple Seven powder's more expensive than Pyrodex, but it's not near as a corrosive. $30 for a 100 charges vs. $20 is something I can handle for the amount I shoot my ML.

sunnyd i will be ready ro go. the freezer is all out of fish. lots of venison though.

I actually pulled the plug on mine this year...of course it is a little easier now with the Thompson Pro Hunter...1/2 turn and the breech plug is out. I never fired mine this muzzleloader season either. Oh well, there is always next year.
