GPS, Radio, Phone reception to Alaska

This spring I will be makeing another trip to Alaska over the ALCAN highway. This will be the first time I will have Sirius Radio, H2O GPS, and Verizon cell phone. Can someone tell me what I should expect as to the reception of these units, both on the way up, and once I get to Alaska? I would think that satellite placement and the curveture of the earth would be an issue.

You will get cell reception in the bigger cities in AK like Anchorage and Fairbanks and also some of the smaller ones down the Kenai peninsula. That's all I can help out with.

Certainly no problem with the GPS and Radio seeing how they both come off satellite. Now the cell phone that is a whole different story.

I don't know that regular Verizon service works outside the USA. You might check with them. Also their web site will have a map of their coverage, regular and roaming.

As far as your phone goes,if you need to stay in touch with the outside world.your best bet is to rent a sattelite phone,they are a little spendy but they work everywhere.
