Envious of what? Being a fan of a driver(s) that nobody likes? That's laughable!! I'd root for the good guy regardless if they've won a cup or not. Just because he hasn't won a cup doesn't mean I'm going to switch drivers. I'm not a bandwagon Hendrick fan.

I wonder what it's like to be one of the most hated drivers on the circuit? Oh nevermind....they are so far separated from the fanbase with their huge egos that they really don't care.

It's nice to see the lack of press that Uni got for the championship. Goes to show how popular of a win it was. Reminds me of the year Kurt Busch won.....yawn. I'm sure NASCAR is happy about it also. A cheater that wins the championship and one that isn't very well liked at that. That should improve ratings. lol.

Now Toyota's coming into the sport and a IROC style car on the horizon. Nothing but big things for NASCAR!! not. They've enjoyed their peak and now they have taken the sport for granted and it's going to come back to bite them. They better make their cash now because it'll be F1, Cart, Indy, or whatever it is, sooner than they think with teams splitting off and creating their own league. I really can see that happening if enough big money gets together and decide they are tired of the NASCAR cash cow turning the sport into a circus.

He's certainly not talking about the biggest cheater in the history of Nascar, you remember the guy who use to make up 3 or 4 laps with like 10 to go, I do give DEI and NASCAR credit for not making it quite so obvious these days. ....ROTFLMAO...... grin.gif

Winning a championship and the most popular driver. Hmmm, seems to me that that has been done already. For those that don't know his name is Bill Elliot (yes, the MWR/Red Bull/Toyota connected money hungry schlub). He won the most popular driver award (AKA miss congeniality) something like 16 times in a row and had to remove himself from the running for Jr. to win his first, so don't act like this is some kind of major award.

From what I read it's the Jr. haters that are trying to call it a major award and start comparing it to Cups. Same ol story..... yawn.

See now you add the suspended part. That wasn't in the first statement. Now the 8 DEI car has had parts confiscated, but then again just about everybody has.

I do agree with you Limit, that NASCAR is not going to have a big year next year and they probably have shot their collective load and the ride is over.

Petty won the most popular award and the cups. After all he is the king. I never really liked Sr. but respected him. Man could he drive a car. Was asad day when nascar lost him. Them are huge shoes for jr to fill. Jr does need to take the next step.

If staying up all night voting for jr. for the most popular driver makes you happy the more power to ya man

Nah, never voted once. There are enough in the Earnhardt Nation that only a 1/4 of them would have to vote and he's still beat Team Sideburns by a million votes.

The problem we have here is that all the Jr haters want to hold him to Sr's wins and record. Jr will do well at his own pace and it will happen when it happens. There are many teams in Nascar that wish they were as good as Jr and his team. Lets see, he did finish in the top five didnt he??? Many more behind and he will get to the top.

That would be your best bet as this debate never ends. That is what I also should do. Give me a call this winter whenever you have time Eric and we can talk about your bow hunting needs for next year.

Maybe we can hook up a couple times ice fishing this winter and talk and catch huge fish.
