Camo patterns

Just looking for feedback on camo patterns. It seems like the patterns keep getting darker and darker. I purchased a Final Flight patterned jacket and bibs a few years ago and it seems to blend in really well, but I see my buddies in Max 4 and shadowgrass and they stick out like sore thumbs in cattails and corn stubble. It doesnt seem to be a big deal with layouts because you can add stubble. Just wondering if anyone has any feedback on this, and do they still make Final Flight camo? Why cant manufactures make a nice cattail pattern without the tree branches or dark colors in the pattern?

I agree with you on the dark patterns. I actually prefer the plain brown to a camo pattern.

Everything I own in camo has the Advantage Wetlands pattern. I can't find it anymore I believe it to be the best pattern in almost every hunting situation when I duck hunt. I wish they still manufactured that pattern. Ken

agreed here too, I actually still wear my jacket that is like 10 years old because it's not dark like the newer patterns

Advantage Wetlands is pretty sweet!

Max4HD was definitely not designed to blend into tan cattails.

I'm pretty pleased with the delta hunter X camo pattern on my columbia quad parka. Also like the mossy oak new shadow grass. Blend in great with cattails, but also with some of the darker, thicker stuff.

I agree 100%, they are really getting away from patterns for duck hunters. It is almost impossible to find something now days for hunting in cattails.

The new shawdow grass and delta mash is OK but still dark.

Max-4 HD is terrible unless to find a pattern with more light than dark. I found some and washed it 10 times to fade it out.

I rarely respond to postings....but the best camo pattern and quality are on Dayonecamouflage.com. Everything is hand made to your specifications. Predator colors cannot be beat. In the pictures they are not impressive, but in the field, you are invisible. Dan from Buffalo.

I've had a quad parka in plain brown camo for over 10 years now and I'd like to buy a new one but there just isn't anything out there that I like.

Jeez, I was going to say I liked the Max-4, but I guess maybee I got a pattern with more light brown than usual. Bought the bibs at Gander the first year they came out. I'm on the left

To take away from that bright and dark color of the new camo I mud everything down. It seems a little crazy to dirty up all the new gear but with things such as blinds it seems to make a difference and takes the gleam out of the new gear too.

Farley, they are not a bad pattern or color, but I like the guys jacket in the middle the best. the guy on the right is what most Max-4 that I have seen looks like and that to me is way too much dark.

I would sure hate to be a camo manufacturer. There is just no way you can please everyone and I think that is what they try to do with some of these patterns. From cattails, cornfields, river bottoms, flooded timber, to snow, where do you start? Us waterfowlers hunt in a lot of different cover in a lot of different states.
