Jumping into the 21st Century

Question

I'm thinking about getting the budget director an IPOD or ZUNE for Christmas. I don't know a thing about these new fangled gizmos other than you can put a few thousand songs on them.

I was looking at the Micro-soft Zune with the adapter that allows you to play it through your FM radio. I don't want to get an up-graded sound system as I have several other up-grades on the new ride's list and a sound system is way down the list. Any advice on these would be helpful. Thanks.

I have a 20 gb Ipod, bought the CFO a 4 GB nano last year. the only negative thing about the Ipod's is that downloading songs from Apple sticks you a buck, oops I 99 cents......now take into account I have 18 gb's of music on my ipod and that is about 3500 songs, that tells you how expensive it could be. I have only downloaded about 40 songs and one book so far. Everything else was in my extensive CD collection.

My wife travel a lot (airline) and she uses hers quite a bit. I use my for exercising and take it along in the truck. I have the antenna thing for it too. I can leave it in the truck and play songs on the radio around the camp fire or listen to it in the ice house.

Apple pretty much has this market. Microsoft put out their product with very little fan fair and it isn't selling well. While Microsoft has a pretty good track record for their products longevity in the market place, I'd go with Apple on this one.
