Tippman
It is always nice to have "firsts". Today while pheasant hunting alone a covey of about a dozen or more hungarian partridge got up from right in front of me. It took a couple seconds to realize what they were since I have never seen them before hunting especially the St.Cloud area. Then I just had time to pick one out and make the shot. How common are they?? My guess is there are more of them out west?

metrojoe
Part of the link is being censored. Which I'm sure is why the photo doesn't show up.

Tippman
It was very good eating. Made it with butter, garlic, mushrooms, and sherry wine on a small bed of pasta.
Borch
Somewhat common in central MN depending on the cover you're hunting. Used to be a lot more of them say 15-20 years ago though.

Matt Breuer
As a youngen we used to see and shoot a ton of Huns in NW MN as well as down in SW MN while pheasant hunting. Now I shoot a few a year, and that's about it. I remember 10-12 years ago we'd see them all over the gravel roads in the mornings! That's a great pic, and a pretty male! I have one just like it at the 'dermist!
