Kylersk
The fiberglass boat post reminded me of this..I've got about a dozen or so RailRoad ties that are half rotted and would like to dispose of them. Last I checked, most garbage places wouldnt take them, and the one that did wanted something like $100 to take them.Anyone have any other ideas? 0 Ryan_V
if they are in decent enough shape, you could give them away, I use them for fence posts!! it they are too rotten though, you might just have to take them to a landfill.
0 Black_Bay
There's a place in Stillwater called Buberl Recycling & Composting. A co worker of mine took his there a few years back. It cost $5 a tie. Give them a call.

0 Powerstroke
burning them would be illegal if they are true railroad ties that are treated with tar or other material. The reason they are so hard to get rid of is cause they are considered hazerdous.....and oversized. See if your town has a bulk pick up program or a recycling center. Call the county they should be able to tell you where to bring them.
0 burl
Check on the pricing before you bring them to any land fill.Had some in the trailer when when i was dumping a load of tore off shingles.Almost caused a shutdown at the land fill. When i went up to the scale to pay the bill they had an extra charge of $200.00 for hazardous waste, there was at the most ten rotten railroad ties in the load.Wasnt trying to do something wrong,i didnt realize at the time that they were hazardous waste.$5.00 a piece to get rid of sounds pretty good.Burl.
