2 small buddy heaters or one big buddy ?

Ok, should I get two small buddy heaters or one big buddy?

It will be heating the Otter cabin

you can get 2 small ones for the same price as the big one.

My thought was having two you could heat each end of the porto or put one in the tub to heat your back and one in front

So what do you guys think? one big buddy or two small ones.

I dont personally own one but if I did I would get the Big Buddy. Why would you want to mess with 2 heaters when your out ice fishing? I see your point about heating the front and rear but if it's that dang cold out I'm not going.

You planning on ice fishing in the same t-shirt and shorts you've got on in your pic? More than likely, with that many BTUs goin' on in an Otter Cabin. I heat my Cabin with a Mr. Heater Cooker, using 1 lb. canisters (staying lightweight for those hand pulls on first ice) and I have never needed anything more.

I would think that you would be better off with the Big Buddy. Its going to give you the same heating options as two buddies, but also has the built in fan. This option really helps on the cold days to keep the heat more even. I currently use the Big Buddy in my Otter Magnum Lodge and have yet to be uncomfortable.

Ditto!

One trip when it was 15 below. The fan does help and you get pretty decent life outof the batteries. I use the hose with a propane tank. You'll go through the 1 lb cylinders pretty quick on a cold day.

Actually, I'm very pleased at how long a 1 lb'er lasts... usually between 7-9 hrs in my Cooker, mostly set to 'medium.' Yeah, it's more $$ per lb., and you always want a spare canister in the sled, but I like it fine.

Wow, 7-9hrs? My mr.Heater cooker must have something wrong with it, because I don't get near 7 hours out of a one pounder on the medium setting. I might get that if it were on low, but even then it would be tough.

Yeah, usually on a few first ice outings after school, 4:00 - 6:30, it will peter out sometime during the third night out. So, yeah, maybe it's more like 6-7 hrs. MY BAD. I'll try to chart it better this year...

If you want it to stay warm in there, get 2 big buddies!

Tolerable temps either would work, but its easier to only mess with 1 heater, although, 2 smaller might give more even heat if it makes a difference.
