Hey tryd to post a reply last night, new at this, hope I dont post the same reply half a doz. times, appologies if that happens. This is cool! Sittin here thinking what I can do with this com. that the wife said we needed to get the pups for X-mas and canopy sam said fshmn.com, Some of you have talked with c-sam before,he's a good guy-rat, swapt the same shore mud with him going on fiffteen yrs or more, he's a good hook up. I'm up here on the red wait'n to get a mud fix on some forks, anyone will'n to hook up let me know. I'm trying to get down south to c-sam this summer, I love forkies but flats sound awsome. Have a new three way rig I had designed for cats I'm itchin to try out. Its based on the foam walker if you heard if that rig, Inter changeble weight system based on current needs, 10" piece of foam 1/4" diameter, clips on your line, never falls over and always in the cat zone. no more three way tying. An evening spent in pursuit of ictilurids would be most devine! I'll bring the champagne and caviar.
Although, kipper snacks tend to keep the bugs away just a little bit better.
I really wanna hook up with you fellas this summer and stick a grandaddy cat, but July 20th is the weekend my family will be downtown for the ELCA global mission event.
I gotta keep my priorities straight on this one - I know the good lord has got a soft spot when it comes to fisherman, but we've already registered and paid for this event so if I bail now he might not send to many big girls my way this summer - if you know what I mean. On top of that were expecting little baby cat #4 in August, so I won't be able to get to far up river. I'm really into the late August through September cattin' anyways. Big hogs are feedin' up and there aren't hardly any bugs at night. Plus that harvest moon is somethin' to look at over the river on a cool autumn night sittin' by the fire.

Anyway, you fellas make the call and I'll do my best to show. I'm sure if the missus says I can't go I'll be at home whining and pineing away about how all my buddies are livin' on the river doin' what I love to do more than anything else in the world, and here I sit feeling sorry myself, and I've got all this great tackle, and all those big lively creek chubs in that bucket downstairs, and I just changed my line, and I'd probably only be gone for a couple hours, and geezzzz I hardly ever get to go...... You know, once in a while it actually works! We'll have to see.

I just found out I was wrong about my weekends in July. I'll definately be in attendance if there's a Catman's Ball on the Minnesota River this summer.
I gotta print up these dates and make sure I've got the right days off from work. Ohh man! Here I go gettin' all wound up about fishin' again...

Yeah, the minnesota river outing on July 20th is on my calendar. I made up my first batch of grandma's stinkbait last weekend.....my wife love's when I do that. I will be on pool 2 Saturday and I'm bringing the CAT stick just in case the walleyes aren't cooperating.

What kind of camping fac. are ther if any. would be interrestedgoing if it is available also were is this located we would be coming from the duluth area. there are cats here but not all that big only4-5 lbs. on the st. louis river

I've got the 20th down on my palm pilot.. Are we gonna make this an all nighter thing? Can we maybe find a sand bar or bank area where we could camp and fish all night? Are we gonna keep it together as a group, or break up into bunches? It'd be a lot of fun to find a site ahead of time that could accomodate a half dozen people or so and make a base camp of sorts. Build a big fire, set out some lines, cook up a pot full of catfish chowder or jumbalaya, maybe set up a CANOPY...HeeHeeHeee...I'm startin' get all shakey just thinkin' about it....

There are some campsites near the area for RVs but not at the site we will be meeting at.Let us know if you need some numbers to call for reservations and we can hook you up.There are areas that you could pitch a tent along the river.We will have some maps of good spots to try overnite for shorebound anglers.
I will be fishing from a boat and plan on making it a night.There are lots of spots that can accomodate quite a few guys and could set up a "CANOPY". (I have a few in mind allready)Guys can head out on their own if they want or can join up.I kinda planned on doing a little spot hopping earlier in the evening then hitting a sand bar as the night went on for a little recreational fishing

Pick a bar that's big enough for me too. I won't be bringing my RV, but an old lawn chair and a ragged sleeping bag will probably suffice.
I'm gonna try movin' around a bit before dark as well. Are there numerous dry sand bars as you go up or down river? You and I are gonna have to hook up for some night fishin' before this event gets fired up.
