Bison vs. Gophers

So, what's your prediction of the game this weekend?? Score included.

It could be interesting considering the position that MN is in right now. I have a tough time believing that NDSU will win against a Big 10 team when they are still young in their Division I program, but it could be a shocker! Hopefully the underdog will prevail.

Well, I know that it's a lose/lose situation for the Gophers... If they blow them out the naysayers will say "they were supposed to" and will receive no credit for the win and if they lose, the NDSU fans will be making plugs for the Rose Bowl... we'll maybe not the RB, but I assume they will get rabid. I just wish they would have came to the dome last year when we had a decent team... we probably would have won by 40 points last year... this year...I'll go on record and say Gophers 34 Bison 20.

Hmmmm. Figured there would be more response. Either everyone has given up on the Gophers or they're a little nervous about this game. I'm leaning towards the former and don't blame them.

I'm a gopher fan but i'd love too see NDSU win. I had a friend play for the Bison a few years back. Had he not blown his knee out his senior year he'd be in the NFL. He played for a small southern MN high school and the gophers turned their nose at him simply because of this. NDSU recruited him as a sophmore. He signed with them. Middle way through his senior year in HS the U of Iowa watched him play basketball and couldnt believe the way he moved on the court for such a big man and offered him a ride on the spot and he turned it down because NDSU had been there for 3 years. So for all those small school guys who the gophers didnt give even a look, and the bison snatched up, i hope the bison win!

Lets make it fair......I highly doubt there is a point spread on the game for obvious reasons so lets put it out at 29.

So the Gophers are favored by 29 in NDSU's super bowl.......I'll lay the 29 and take the Gophers .........what say you..... grin.gif

I've heard the official/unofficial line on this game was 26pts. I'll take the Bison to cover if it's 26 OR 29. Heading out the door right now and heading to the Big Inflatible Toilet to watch the game.

Get on your feet Bison fans, the march is on!

Well the Bison deserved better! They outplayed our Division 1 team for most of the game and made some key mistakes that cost them in the end. On a side note, it's a bummer to lose on a blocked FG attempt. I hope they schedule them again in the near future. The Bison fans should be proud!! The Gophers should feel lucky!!

An "L" would have been an embarrasment, it will go down in the record books as a win, albeit a very shaky one... but we lost to Penn State a few weeks ago in a game we "should" have won, but those ghost pass interference calls on 4th down in the extra session working against you are just not good, nor lucky. In the end, Minny is a weak shell of the team they've had the last few years...and those teams were barely top 20 material. Gotta get back to the "REAL" Minnesota team, the Gophers hockey team.... wink.gif

Although a "W" in the record books, it's definitely a "L" for the football program. The Bison fans came away from the game with heads up and nothing to be ashamed of. Their team lost by one point to a Big 10 team on the road and should have won if not for a few turnovers. What a game. It was hard to tell who won and who lost after the game judging by the crowd. The M fans were pretty quiet.

Minnesota fans should be embarrassed.

Go Bison!!

We'll the Gopher's won a game they didn't deserve to win and like I said, it turned into a lose/lose deal for the U of M. maybe thats why small schools don't get many chances against larger schools... hmmm.

P.S. Gotta correct you Lmitout, It's not the Minnesota FANS that need to be embarrassed, it's Glen Mason and his wacky staff of underperformers! Just want you to keep things in perspective.

The media has been talking about the obvious lose-lose situation all week long leading up to this game. The Bison had nothing to lose and it fell right into their hands the way the game played out.

My point was that they should feel embarrassed to have a coach like Mason running (or ruining) their team. How can the fans feel good about rooting for their team that underperforms week in and week out? And I'm not saying it's not entirely the player's fault, but moreso their head coach putting them into positions such as the one we saw yesterday.

Yesterday was the first Gopher's game that I've attended and I was shocked by how little fan support there was from the opening kickoff. The place would have seemed dead but for the Bison fans who were very into the game from start to finish. There was a lot of maroon and gold in the seats, but I think a lot of them were there just to be there and really didn't have any interest in supporting this club.

It's unfortunate for their fans to have to deal with this clown and also the A.D. for rewarding him to a big contract that was not deserved one bit. Things need to change over there and blame starts at the top.
