Are those brassicas gonna get hit hard now?

I'm sure some of you guys have plots of brassicas out and with last nights good frost they should be getting hit, eh? Please keep me posted, I'm thinking of planting some next year.

I have heard lots of reports of them getting hit a month or two ago. I saw the same thing. No idea if the drought did something to them to make them attractive or what.

I would fully expect them to start getting hit hard very quickly. Last year I had no activity in a brassicas plot the week before rifle season, and by the time rifle season opened, it was 100% eaten flat. It was like a herd of goats went through it. I planted more this year, but ended up losing a lot to the drought too.

I am wondering how hard my winter rye will get hit now with a couple of good killing frosts. The trail cam should tell the story this weekend.

Do Brassicas come back each year or do you have to replant them?

I'm also really curious to see because I planted a 2 acre spot right below my house in mid-August. So far the deer have ignored it, they've been hitting the clover hard instead. Time will tell. In the past, when I've had smaller brassica spots, the deer had it eaten flat by Dec.
