Winchester Spotting Scopes

I was wondering if anyone has used Winchester's spoting scopes? Also do they make their own or do they have someone make them for them? I am kind of in the market for a spotting scope. I have Leopold Binoculars and Scopes on all my guns. I like them very much and know the quality. Now I know the same will apply to there spotting scopes. However for how much I will be using it I don't feel it is necessary to have a $400 or better spoting scope. They have nice little packages with case tripod and scope that I like is seems pretty decent. I more or less am interest in if anyone has one and how well they like them. So let me here it.

I own a 15X40. It's my range scope. I'm a big-time optics fan, who used to be a hunting manager for a major outdoor recreational retailer. I've got lots of toys. The Winchester scope is a pretty nice package for the money.

There are WAY better optics. Spend another 100 bucks, and you've really got yourself something. But if you don't want to part with that 100 bucks, that Winchester scope is pretty darn reasonable.

That is kind of what I was thinking. It think for how I want to use it it will be pretty good. Irvingdog What is a good one that you would recomend in the price range you mentioned?

Boy. Once you get into premium optics, you really step into a Ford/Chevy pi$$ing match. Nikon, Bushnell and Leupold all have great stuff in that range.

I have one and I can read the lcense number on a vehicle at a half mile. That's good enough for my use.

The Winchester brand name is licensed for use by a company named Vanguard USA located in Michigan. Vanguard USA is the U.S. marketing and sales force/arm of a China based factory that manufacurers, sells and distributes many different kinds of optics, gun cases, shooting accessories, range bags, archey cases, tripods, camera cases, etc., etc.

They manufacture good quality stuff and are a OEM source for Gander Mtn. I know they take the optics business pretty seriously...just take a look at thier web site.

I picked one up this last weekend but I am not sold on them right now or at least the model I got. I do not like the focus system on them. It seems very difficult to get them to focus. After getting if focused it wasn't to bad but I know there are better out there. So I think I will be exchanging it for a different one.

I had one and took it back right away and spent a little more for a Burris 15 - 45 x 60. Still a budget one but much better then the Winchester.

Well when ever I get a different one it will not be a bushnell either. I have never liked them at all. I am sure I will get a Leopold or Nikon when I get a new one. It just isn't worth trying to get something as important as optics on a budget. I discovered that this weekend myself. I also like Burris they too see pretty good.
