what ya fishin for. one of my favorite is a jigging spoon tipped with minnow head or waxie. walleye, crappies, sun fish, northerns and perch will hit this. also small profile plastics on a small jig- glow demons are a good jig also. If you are looking to get out in a certain area go to the forum and the area you are looking to fish and I guaruntee you will find someone to meet up with and get a little ice fishing 101. or stop by most any tackle store and they should point you in the right direction.....Good Luck and have fun.

When tageting active walleyes and perch spoons are hard to pass up.

The lure I catch the most fish on every year is the plain hook with a 2 1/2 to 3 inch minnow of some kind depending on the lake we are fishing.

Now gills I don't have a go to lure as it seems they always want somthing diferent from the last time out, it pays to have alot of diferent colors and sizes, some of the one i use the most are the genz worm, shrimpo, ratzo, costom glow jigs, and simple tear drop jigs in all colors

macanudo,

Welcome to FishingMinnesota!

You've come to the right place to get the answers you need for this up coming ice fishing season. Like some of the guys have asked, " what is it that you are targeting?" There is a wealth of knowledge here on the site and we look forward to helping you.

Give us some specifics and we'll get you headed to a tackle isle as fast as you can clap your hands! cool.gif
