Tica Cetus

My son went to Cabellas today to pick up a Tica Cetus SB500 or an SS500 for me and the salesman told him they were discontinued and out of stock. Does that mean Cabellas doesn't sell them anymore, or Tica isn't making them any more? I know I can order them from Thorne Bros., but would be hesitant if Tica is going out of business, or out of selling that line of reels. Anybody know what is going on.

I hope they are not as I love those reels.My bet is that Cabelas are not going to handle them any longer.

We just received a large shipment of Tica Cetus LF500's and SS500's at Thorne Bros... as far as I know they are not discontinued... you might want to check with someone different at the fishing department at Cabelas if you stop in there again, maybe get a second opinion.

The Cetus SS500 is a very nice reel, as is the SB500, can't go wrong either way in my opinion. I use both of those reels for ice fishing...

I just purchased 5 Tica Cetus SS500's found a good deal for $42 a reel includes express shipping. Time to upgrade my old Sedona 500's..

Thanks for the responses. I saw online at Cabellas the link to tica reels was also deleted. I think Cabellas is going out of the Tica business.

I looked at their global HSOforum and there was no mention of the cetus modesl being discontinued.

I don't know if I'd be able to handle that plus the st.croix reel seat fiasco in one season!
