I believe Joel Nelson has the fever - Let's welcome him to the club

Wrong direction Harvey Lee. Paul and I have now converted him away from those bottom feeding kitty cats to the real thing. FYI you should have seen Paul hand landing that fish as we didn't have a net big enough. Smooth job considering we had two lines tangled up with lures flying everywhere.

I can't thank Paul and Mark enough. These guys are pros. With all of the bigger fish that night, it was like a well-oiled machine; unlike when we've got a big flatty going at night.

And yes, I'm thankful that iron-grip-Waldowski hand-landed the thing boatside, and I didn't.

Here's some other pics of bait. smile.gif

Note the confused and disgusted look on Paul's face.

Hmmm...

So many things I could comment on here.

#1 Nice toothy critter Joel!

#2 Hope you washed your hands after touching that, errr, bass you are holding Paul. Yuck!

#3 Biting my tongue on catfish comments. I'm betting pound for pound, a flathead puts down more live food per night than a muskie does. blush.gif

I suppose someone had to switch to muskies to replace the muskie king Jonny who switched to the kitties this year.

Maybe a guy needs to fish them both.Any fish that size is a awesome catch.

Yes a guy should fish them both, along with Bass, Walleye, panfish even sheephead, White bass Rock Bass. It took me a few years to burn out my eyeballs staring at muskies to relize THIS IS MINNESOTA, WE HAVE A KAZILLION TYPES OF FISH! I want em all.

Now a few things about this fish and the turkey...hunter that caught it. This cat is the luckiest SOB I have ever known. He is always the guy to tie into the big fish when in the boat. He will tangle rods, tip pop cans over, braid the anchor rope in one motion, use the outboard as a dredge, and never ever remembers most of what he needs. I must say it never fails, Joel will be untangling a rod that he has tangled up while trying to untangle the anchor as he dumps over his pop can onto his electronics and WHAMMO he has a trophy class fish on, again. confused.gif I just don't understand. crazy.gif

Two weeks ago he was going to join the Walleye trail, I guess thats on hold until the PMTT is done huh Joel? grin.gif

All in all a nice fish and a sounded like a good night with a few bonus species from musky to smallies.
