Im still shooting the old flipper rest style, looking to change to newer style. BISCUIT OR DROP AWAY ? i shoot carbon with vanes, and i dont want the arrow falling off while walking around. Throw some ideas my way. or should i just wait to change after the season.

keep in mind any change in your arrow rest will probably need quite a bit of tuning/re-sighting ect. If you would rather not deal with that right now. Then I would wait till the off season.

As for not letting the arrow fall off while walking around. I would say your best bet is the Biscut. I myself shoot a drop away(Trophy Taker Shakey Hunter and love it.)

I've heard the whisker biscuit tears the fletchings off the arrows. I use trophy ridge drop rest witch worked flawless Sat. evening on my first buck with a bow (6 pt. bow hunted 2 yrs. before everything worked in my favor now I'm addicted).

I had one of the local pro-shops put a QAD Ultra-Rest LD on my Switchback a little over a month ago...was shooting bullet holes within a few minutes. Its a fall away rest but it has complete capture feature until you shoot. I think it worth a look.....just google QAD...they have a video demo......good luck.

The things I like about the QAD LD is the fact that it has total containment...you can put your bow in any position and the arrow will remain captured. I also like the fact that the rest will not drop unless you actually shoot your bow...the rest remains in the upright and captured position in a slow let down situation. The LD stands for lock-down...and this keeps the forks from possibly bouncing back up and striking your fletching.

My switchback is cranked down at 72lbs with a 29inch draw shooting a total arrow weight of just over 370grains...with nothing on the string (vapor trail)...so Its plenty fast...but I understand what your saying. I have been using 2inch Blazers on my arrows and have no contact issues.

I am rather new to this sport...so I have limited experience....but I watched the pro-shop employee set up my bow...I shot it for or five times thru paper....he made a couple of adjustments...I shot it a few more times....one more adjustment....and its bullet holes. So, I thought it appeared pretty easy to get set up.

If you google “QAD” on the internet..you should be able to find their web-site...and they have a demo video shows what I am talking about. If someone is in the market for a new rest....I think the QAD LD is worth a look.

Cliffy.

I have ripcord drop away, you can cock it up for a total arrow containment or shoot it with the rest down. With the arm rest cock up you can walk around with the arrow nock on. I prefer drop away rest for the vane clearence and are easiest to tune. If you know bow stuff, than changing anything on your bow and tuning shouldn't be a problem.

I have the trophy taker drop away rest paired with a small arrow clip made by cobra. The rubber clip is adhered to the shelf is holds the arrow just tight enough so that when you draw back it's picked up smoothly. The trophy taker rest was the only one that seemed to drop away fast enough for my arrows to clear and I've never had a problem with the arrow falling off the rest, it sits far enough down that it won't. With that rubber clip the arrow will not fall off while walking around. It works awesome.
