Towing your Dropdown house with ATV?

I've got a 17' V-Front fish house with 280#'s of tounge weight (without my propane tanks on). I hope this tongue weight is about normal? I heard 10% is best? Not sure what my overall house weights yet...

Anyways, I've got an AC 650, it's towing capacity is 1200#'s or so, I no my house is more than that, but I swear I've seen ATV's pulling them around?

Thoughts?

I run a similar house and put hundreds of miles on with my atv every year..but of course it is a polaris sportsman 500 with a little more towing ability....not sure on specs just know because a buddy runs an ac 650 and it really squats it down....the polaris runs close to level...moral of the story is when it comes to atvs never buy an arctic dump!!

I agree, put more weight in the back. Maybe you could put your propane tanks in the back when moving the house. As far as hauling it the only thing you may need to worry about is stopping. Chains are nice for getting traction both for taking off and stopping.

I'm back in the game boys and girls. Picking up my second wheel house Sunday. Got rif of my first 2 years ago. Anyways when I would bring mine out I would have someone sit in the doorway of the house to balance the weight. They would just dangle their legs and enjoy the ride. If I was by myself I would put most of my gear in the back, like those other guys said. Worked great. By the way the house looks great Kylersk

When you move it have a buddie or 2 ,or the wife (
if shes a big one
) ride in the back of the house when moving it, that should take half the weight off your 4-wheeler.

grin.gif Friggin hilarious! grin.gif If she's that dern big, strap on a harness, make her pull the house-you ride alongside on the ATV!! grin.gif Besides, I thought the whole point of ice fishing was to get away from our wives?! grin.gif
