No art here, just a very skittish butterfly that hopped up and took off any time I got within 10 feet.

The 20D, the 100-400L IS at 400, iso400, 1/640 at f8 handheld

Ya, I thought that lense was supposed to be "soft" at 400mm. I too like the sublety of the colors of the BFly and the rocks.

Thanks folks. And any softness in a zoom shot at max focal length, if it's a good zoom, generally can be taken out by stopping down aperature a bit. You'll note from the exif this was shot at f8, not the f5.6 that would be wide open at 400mm on that lens.
