Minn Kota Help

Norco

Question

My Powder Drive 65 w/ Auto Pilot stopped making left turns for me. My batteries are fine and foot control as well as 2 Co-pilots all work fine but do not turn the motor left.

Can anybody tell me whats wrong and what the cost of repair would be worth or if its even worth repairing?

Cheers!!

I'd look up MinnKota's HSOforum and see if there's a service location close.

I had one where the foot pad went bad, would go forward, but not turn right or left.

Took the foot pad in, fixed it for $35. It was on a motor that was going on 9+ years old.

Norco, I have had this happen on two different powerdrives. With mine I tried new pedals both times but it ended up being the main circuit board. Learned the hard way to unplug the motor when not in use. Good luck!

Thats the info I got from Fishlectronics in Fridley. They told me that iis constantly drawing juice from the battery and wears the circuit board out much faster than you would think. Im just going by what they told me. I also know that leaving them outside in the winter can cause the boards to get moisture on them and when it freezes, the board can crack. Just my 2 cents worth.

I just had mine in for the circuit board because mine would only go at high speed. I brought it to a certfied repair place in walker and was charged $65 for the board + labor for a total around 105-110 with same day service. I also have the 65lb 3yrs old and the guy told me that if it had a white top shell the board would have been over $200.
