Favorite bike trails

I just returned from a week in Hackensack riding the Paul Bunyan trail. I have ridden the trail from Walker to Merrifield. Very nice!

I have also ridden parts of the Root river trail above and below Lanesboro. Also very nice.

Are there any other good trails worth checking out in MN or WI?

Sparta-Elroy trail in Wisconsin is real nice. About 30 miles long with several miles of tree canopied trail with lots of shade, and several side trails for added miles. There are also 3 tunnels, the longest being nearly a mile. The wife and I rode it this spring. Took most of the day but we did the nearly the whole trail up and back, 58 miles to be exact. Lots of nice scenery too!

Both the Chippewa River and Red Cedar River trails in west-central WI are excellent! Go to WI DNR HSOforum for more info.

I will agree with the Sparta trail. I biked that in Jr Hi a waaaaay long time ago. I went with a Jr Hi youth group, and we had an awesome time. We went as soon as school was out, so many of us hadn't been real active for awhile, and we were able to ride it alright. We were tired when we got home, and a little saddle sore (good old 10 speed seats!).

Take a look, many exciting trails to visit. My personal Favorite is Lake Itasca SP. Trail goes through some old

growth forest and is incredible. Then again, I haven`t

been to many others to compare with though.

Oh yea! Itasca is an awesome place for a bike ride!

The trails at Itasca are great. We also have liked the trails at Lake Bemidji State Park which are a little flatter for younger riders.
