Question on Shipping a Car

BlueBasser

Question

Hey guys just hoping someone may have a little knowledge about shipping a car. Just wondering if anyone can give an idea of how much it would cost to ship a car from Los Angeles, CA to the Twin Cities??? The car runs great, just wondering if it would cost more to ship it or fly out there and drive it back... Thanks!

You might want to talk to some of the moving companies. I used to work for Berger Transfer (Allied Van Lines) in the cities and we had cars coming into and out of the warehouse all the time. Most of them were with household shipments but I'm sure they would ship a car alone as well. Many of their OTR drivers make the Twin Cities to California run as well. Most of the cars were loaded right off the dock into the semi-trailers. Cost? No idea though.

I would also consider talking to some of the car dealers around your place and see if they hire anyone to do that kind of work. Lots of retired folks do it for extra money.

Maybe someone can recommend a "person" who does it rather than paying a large company for it.
